Jade is a leading STEAM education, entrepreneurship and edtech expert and the founder of STEAM School, a ground-breaking virtual academy for students aged 9-14 years old. Steam School is creating a talent pipeline of future inventors and tech entrepreneurs with the support of brands like Instagram, Pokemon Go, Google and Amazon. She is an award-winning educational leader and edtech company founder who is dedicated to transforming how we approach teaching, learning and assessment to support schools and educators to deliver dynamic, futuristic competency-based curriculum that will provide students with the dynamic education they will need to thrive and innovate as adults.
After graduating with a 1st Class Hons degree and Mphil in entrepreneurship from UMIST, Jade Parkinson-Hill began her career working in the tech sector as a marketing and business development specialist. In 2006, Jade joined the education sector as the Director of Enterprise for one of the first school academies in the U.K. As a business specialist Jade, lead the development of the school's specialism to inspire students and their families to create their future with entrepreneurial skills. Following this role, Jade held a position as a Vice Principal for Entrepreneurship for the Aldridge Foundation. Jade secured approximately £1.25 million of national and regional funding to support the creation of school and community entrepreneurial projects during her two year tenure.
Jade led on the institutional design and bidding for a unique specialist school in Liverpool for teenagers aspiring to work in the video games sector. Developing strong public-private partnerships and collaborations with the local and national video games sector, Jade led the creation and implementation of STEAM focused project based learning curriculum and industry-linked programmes. As a direct result of her work in partnership with the video games industry, Jade was named one of the top women in the U.K. Video Games Industry in 2015.
STEAM School has become an essential resource to educators and learners during the disruption caused by the pandemic with hundreds of schools signing up to deliver its curriculum during 2020. As this unique edtech platform goes from strength to strength, Jade continues to provide teacher training, curriculum development, school transformation, bid consultancy, employer partnerships and public-private partnership development, bespoke programme design and consultancy for public and private sector education stakeholders. She is now working with international stakeholders to meet demand for edtech solutions, STEAM and employer-linked education projects across the world.
